AI reskilling must be a continuous investment for businesses

At the Society for Human Resources Management's AI+HI Project conference — which stands for Artificial Intelligence + Human Intelligence — experts explored themes of integrating AI into businesses and the workforce. The organization revealed in its recent annual report that just under 15% of both workers and HR professionals believe that AI is effectively integrated into their workplace. Society for Human Resources Management CEO Johnny Taylor joins Yahoo Finance to discuss the organization's findings, the use cases for AI in the workplace, and the future of AI for workers and businesses going forward. When asked how businesses are viewing worker retention and bringing in new workers with AI training, Taylor states that it's like an investment: "In times past, learning and development was really considered a perk for the employee. Now, and increasingly so, employers are acknowledging that this is an investment in their business. Because at the end of the day... businesses are an aggregation of their people. We're seeing it very much as an investment. It's a long-term investment and, at this point, one that we're going to have to do continuously."
