OKX Reveals Crypto Gaming Launchpad With Ethereum Scaler Immutable - Decrypt

The alliance will see crypto exchange OKX and gaming network Immutable team up for various integrations alongside the GameFi launchpad.

Cryptocurrency exchange OKX and Ethereum gaming platform Immutable announced a strategic alliance on Thursday to unveil a dedicated GameFi launchpad on OKX’s NFT marketplace, alongside other collaborative integrations.

In addition to the launchpad, which will be used (at least in part) to roll out assets tied to games launching on the Immutable zkEVM network, OKX will also support Immutable zkEVM via the marketplace and its wallet.

In turn, Immutable will integrate the OKX wallet within Immutable Passport, a simplified wallet and crypto gaming sign-in solution, and integrate the OKX NFT Marketplace within the Immutable orderbook and marketplace.

"Collaborating with OKX aligns with our mission to bring digital proprietorship to every gamer in the world,” said Immutable co-founder and President Robbie Ferguson, in a release. “OKX's robust ecosystem and cutting-edge technology combined with Immutable's Web3 gaming expertise allows us to open new gaming experiences for millions of players worldwide.”

The GameFi launchpad is expected in the “upcoming months,” according to a statement, as Immutable zkEVM titles like Guild of Guardians, MetalCore, and Shardbound start to release.

A May 15 global release date for Guild of Guardians was also announced on Thursday, while the makers of MetalCore recently told Decrypt’s GG that they’re targeting an open beta release for May. Shardbound doesn’t have a release window yet, but recently held an alpha playtest for 2,000 users.

“Web3 gaming is on the verge of becoming mainstream, and at OKX, we are committed to making our wallet and marketplace the best way to access these next-generation games and their items,” said OKX Chief Innovation Officer Jason Lau, in a release.
