Pixel Vault’s 'BattlePlan' Migrating to Ethereum Gaming Network Xai - Decrypt
04/03/2024 18:49Crypto game BattlePlan and Pixel Vault’s Reboot gaming protocol are shifting to Xai, the Arbitrum-based layer-3 Ethereum network.
Reboot, the crypto gaming protocol powering Pixel Vault's flagship game BattlePlan, announced an alliance with The Xai Foundation on Wednesday to migrate the game to the Xai gaming network on Ethereum.
BattlePlan will utilize Xai's Arbitrum-based layer-3 technology when it moves to the network sometime this quarter. The game was first launched on Arbitrum Nova, another Ethereum scaling network.
"We have helped to develop an ecosystem that starts with fun games and then uses blockchain technology to enhance the experience by driving value back to players, content creators, developers, and more," said Pixel Vault CEO Sean Gearin, in a release. "We have great respect for the goals defined by the Xai team, and we are looking forward to working with them to scale the network and broaden its player base."
BattlePlan, an “auto-brawler” game with the look of a classic arcade beat-’em-up, has amassed some 5,000 weekly active users since launching in January, and Pixel Vault says that they spend an average of two hours per day playing the game. Over 10,000 players have participated in the game’s first season so far, logging over 7.5 million transactions in total.
Pixel Vault says that the move to the Xai network alongside Reboot reflects a strategic decision to transition to a blockchain solely built for gaming, which can improve game stability, transaction speeds, and the overall player experience as BattlePlan scales.
"We are extremely excited to have the Reboot Protocol joining the Xai ecosystem," said Xai core contributor Soby in a release. "Pixel Vault, incubator to Reboot, has been at the leading edge of Web3 for years; and alongside Xai, we look forward to pushing the boundaries of Web3 gaming."
The Xai network launched its XAI token earlier this year and has been gradually amassing games and collaborators. The Crypto Unicorns gaming franchise is set to migrate from Polygon, while The Media Indie Exchange (aka The MIX) aims to bring upwards of 100 games to the network by the end of 2024 thanks to partnered indie studios.
