Robert F Kennedy took direct aim at the Fed during an interview at the Bitcoin Conference in Nashville today.
“The relationship between Congress and the Fed is both parasitical to our country, and it’s a symbiotic relationship. The Fed is not a public institution … The decision-makers are appointed by the banking industry. Its function with these cycles of quantitative easing followed by high interest rates are … strip-mining cash and equity from the American middle class and pumping it upward to this new oligarchy of billionaires.
He went on to add, "The coup de grâce was the lockdowns during Covid, which shut down all the small business in this country, which is what we should be nurturing, and kept open the Walmarts, and the Amazons, and Facebook, and the oil industry, and the processed food industries, and Big Ag, they all flourished during that period. And meanwhile Main Street just got liquidated.”

One year ago at the Bitcoin Conference, Robert F. Kennedy became the first presidential candidate in history to accept bitcoin, spoke of the dangers of unlimited money-printing and pledged his support for the bitcoin industry. He promised to bring tech innovators home, entice investors with tax incentives, and end the SEC’s dampening of crypto momentum.
Now a year later, with bitcoin booming and 50 million voters claiming to be holding crypto, Donald Trump is suddenly echoing Kennedy’s policy initiatives and promising to outline his support in the closing keynote for the 2024 Bitcoin Conference in Nashville. It is rumored that Trump will promise the US Treasury will begin investing billions to support the bitcoin ecosystem. His campaign has already raised millions of dollars via digital assets since he started accepting them in May of this year.
Both Kennedy and former President Trump are scheduled to speak this weekend at the Bitcoin Conference in Nashville, where tens of thousands of industry professionals and enthusiasts have gathered. One could never have imagined even two years ago that two Presidential candidates would be competing for who could do more for bitcoin.
Robert F. Kennedy Jr. has been staunchly pro-crypto for years and was the keynote speaker at the Bitcoin Conference in Miami in 2023, where he described bitcoin as a “major innovation machine.” Kennedy has also defended the industry against accusations of environmental harm caused by mining activities.
Is he really "the bitcoin candidate" as some say? See our additional coverage including the full interview and decide for yourself.
