The resurgence of altcoins has caught the attention of crypto enthusiasts as several fundamentally sound tokens are showing significant upward movement.

Scott Melker, host of The Wolf of All Streets, sat down with George Tung, host of CryptosRUs, to discuss the renewed momentum in the market and what may be driving this trend.

"We're finally seeing some momentum," Tung said. He explained that the market hadn't seen this level of activity since earlier in the year due to bitcoin's sideways movement. "There’s a lot of enthusiasm now... and a lot of macro conditions are improving." Tung expressed optimism for the final quarter of the year, citing the possibility of continued altcoin growth.

Sui, one of the latest ethereum alternatives to launch during the bear market in 2022 saw its token advance 100% over the last month.

Scott Melker pointed out that in previous cycles, investors could pick almost any altcoin and see gains. However, he questioned whether that strategy still holds, asking Tung if this time around, there’s a need to focus on projects with true utility. "How much demand will we need to see the whole market move?" Melker asked.

Tung agreed, emphasizing the importance of liquidity injections and upcoming catalysts. "We definitely need to see that liquidity come in," he said, referencing both U.S. and Chinese economic actions. He also pointed to key sectors such as AI and gaming that are driving the current narratives for altcoin growth. "AI is a big narrative... and gaming's another one."

As they wrapped up, Melker noted the potential for a strong close to the year. "Sounds like October may not be a myth again this time," he said, indicating that the momentum might carry through the final quarter of the year.
