Could these 5 altcoins lead the next crypto boom? Here’s what to watch
10/11/2024 01:17From Ethereum to the gaming-focused Gunzilla, Austin Arnold shares five altcoin picks he believes will lead the next wave of cryptocurrency adoption.
Bitcoin's stagnant price has left many wondering when altcoin season will begin, prompting discussions on potential top picks in the crypto market.
Host of The Wolf of All Streets podcast, Scott Melker, alongside Austin Arnold, co-host of Altcoin Daily, delved into their thoughts on bitcoin’s future and Arnold’s top altcoin selections for the upcoming cycle.
Arnold began by cautioning investors, “I believe bitcoin will hit at least $100,000 next year. If you think it's going lower, don't speculate on altcoins.” He emphasized that easing interest rates and the four-year halving cycle support a favorable environment for bitcoin. From there, he shared his top altcoin pick: "Ethereum has the most utility, people building on it, and stablecoin usage." He also mentioned ethereum’s regulatory standing, saying, “It’s the most regulatory compliant next to bitcoin.”
Arnold’s second choice was Solana, which is often referred to as the "ETH killer." He explained, "If we’re looking at growth rate versus ethereum, Solana is winning," and pointed out that PayPal’s stablecoin development on Solana boosts its credibility. He continued with his third pick, Sui, labeling it a potential "Solana killer" based on recent performance, highlighting its surge in daily transactions and total value locked (TVL).
Moving away from layer-1 blockchains, Arnold discussed Ondo Finance, his fourth pick, noting that it is backed by significant players like Coinbase and Pantera and taps into the "real world asset narrative." Finally, Arnold closed with his fifth pick, the gaming project Gunzilla, although it does not yet have a token. He shared his excitement for Gunzilla’s crypto game Off the Grid, which has already launched on major gaming platforms.
Melker wrapped up the discussion by echoing his excitement around seeing Web3 gaming arrive for the masses, saying, "I really believe this will bring crypto aspects to the mainstream."
