CVC Capital Partners is nearing a deal to buy infrastructure investor DIF Capital Partners as it seeks to expand its range of offerings ahead of a potential listing, people with knowledge of the matter said.

The European private equity firm could announce a deal as soon as Tuesday, the people said, asking not to be identified because the information is private. Netherlands-based DIF has around €16 billion ($17 billion) of assets under management, according to its website.
