For the first time in a while there are signs of bullishness on Britain’s stocks. Strategists are chiming in with positive comments about the market and the lower pound is helping. It feels like it may be a turnaround moment for a market that’s been in the doldrums for years. London Stock Exchange Chief Executive Officer Julia Hoggett says the recognition is overdue.
“We’ve been turning a corner in real life for quite a long time,” she tells Francine Lacqua and David Merritt on this week’s episode of the In the City podcast. “I think it always takes time for facts, narrative and indeed perception to all catch up with one another. There is a great deal of reason to be hugely optimistic.”
