Refiners, which typically produce more distillates such as diesel and heating oil in autumn, are trying to rebuild inventories of these fuels that are near seasonal record lows. The Chinese government has taken a "golden share" in a domestic subsidiary of tech giant Tencent Holdings, a company registration database showed, the latest sign of China stepping up its control over its tech sector. Wangtou Zhicheng, an entity controlled by the Chinese government, now owns a 1% stake in Shenzhen Yayue Technology after an investment of 600,000 yuan ($82,016.51), according to database Qichacha, which said the deal happened on Oc. Tencent, the world's largest video game company and the operator of the WeChat messaging platform, declined to comment.

Making more products for China locally and buying chips from several suppliers are just two of the supply chain changes Dutch healthcare technology firm Philips is making due to rising trade tensions, its CEO Roy Jakobs told Reuters. The company intends to ensure that 90% of products for the Chinese market are sourced and assembled in China by 2024 - up from 75% at present and 48% in 2022. "Before we were all seeking the optimal global supply chain efficiency," he said.

Tesla has finally set a date for the first deliveries of the Cybertruck. CEO Elon Musk posted on social media Wednesday that the Cybertruck delivery event, which traditionally means a few select customers get to take possession of their vehicles, will be held November 30 at company's Austin gigafactory. BEIJING (Reuters) -China's CATL, the world's largest battery maker for electric vehicles (EV), said on Thursday that third-quarter profit rose 10.7%, its weakest quarter since the start of last year as slowing demand and stiff competition hit. CATL saw its China market share tumble in September to the lowest in more than a year, data showed, underscoring the challenges it faces from smaller rivals and weakening demand in the world's largest electric vehicle market. "CATL is facing pressure in the near term, given competition from tier-2 battery makers who price their products at a discount to CATL, and weaker-than-expected lithium-ion battery demand," Citi analysts said in a note.

The Monetary Authority of Singapore (MAS) on Thursday told DBS Group Holdings' unit DBS Bank and Citibank Singapore to conduct a thorough investigation after they failed to recover their systems fully within a required timeframe during an unscheduled outage on Oct. 14. On Saturday Oct. 14, DBS's and Citibank's online banking and payment services went offline from around 3 p.m. Singapore time with services only fully resuming on Sunday morning, Singapore broadcaster CNA reported. Both used a data centre operated by Equinix.
