Disney's (DIS) deadline to nominate new members to its board of directors is here. Disney secured the support of investor ValueAct Capital in a new information-sharing deal amid Trian Fund Management CEO Nelson Peltz's proxy battle against the media company's board. Doug Creutz, TD Cowen Managing Director of TMT - Media & Entertainment, believes the saga of Peltz's proxy battle was not a major distraction for Disney CEO Bob Iger while he prioritized weaknesses in the company's business segments. "Disney getting ValueAct to support their view, the optics of it are good for Disney," Creutz tells Yahoo Finance. "It says, here's another major investor with interest in these sorts of things that believes that... our view is the correct one to help dissuade, maybe, anybody else from saying, 'Hey, maybe Peltz is right.'"
