Labor market 'more selective' while job opportunities exist

December jobs data outpaced expectations, adding 216,000 jobs to the US labor market in the month alone and 2.7 million jobs in 2023 overall. Some economists are still characterizing the job market as "still hot" as US workers are experiencing quicker turnovers between jobs.
