New Zealand house-building costs rose at the slowest pace in more than seven years as high interest rates and economic uncertainty curb demand for new homes.

Construction costs rose 2.4% in the year through December, the smallest annual increase since the 12 months ended September 2016, CoreLogic New Zealand said Thursday in Wellington. Fourth-quarter costs rose 0.8% from the preceding three months.
