Microsoft, Google, Meta, and OpenAI are four of the seven companies that have signed commitments to AI safeguards at the White House's request. It comes as concerns about how fast AI technology is developing and being deployed have grown. Credo AI Founder and CEO Navrina Singh tells Yahoo Finance Live “the innovation in artificial intelligence has sort of scaled very rapidly” and if AI systems are “not managed appropriately” it “could actually result in massive risk to humanity, to countries, to companies.”

RTX to remove 1,200 jet engines from service after discovering manufacturing defect
Shares of RTX Corp. (NYSE: RTX) plummeted Tuesday after the company formerly known as Raytheon Technologies said a defect in a powdered metal used for jet engines will require its Pratt & Whitney division to remove some engines from service sooner than expected in order to conduct inspections. Because of the defect, Pratt & Whitney will need to accelerate the pace of inspections of its PW1100G-JM engine fleet that powers Airbus A320neo jets for customers such as Delta Air Lines Inc. and Spirit Airlines Inc. The defect, which can reduce the lifespan of its engine turbine discs, affects engines produced between late 2015 into the third quarter of 2021, Chief Financial Officer Neil Mitchell said on an earnings call with analysts Tuesday morning.
