Shares of Procter & Gamble were up around 5% Tuesday morning on what seemed to be underwhelming quarterly results, at least on first glance. The maker of Tide detergent and Bounty paper towels said organic sales, a key metric that strips out currency and merger impacts, rose 4% from a year earlier in the company’s second fiscal quarter through December, down from 7% growth the prior quarter. Analysts polled by Visible Alpha had on average expected 4.9% organic sales growth on a 0.6% increase in volume.
