Prime Minister Rishi Sunak has launched a new business council as the UK government promises to boost the economy ahead of a general election later this year.

Chief executive officers from major London-listed companies such as BT Group Plc, Unilever Plc, Lloyds Banking Group Plc, and ITV Plc will hold meetings from next month with Sunak in Downing Street. The bosses of Greggs Plc, famous for its sausage rolls, and housebuilder Barratt Developments Plc were also among the 15 people named on the council.
