Shares of Ulta Beaty (ULTA) fell 15% on Wednesday after the company warned that demand appeared to be cooling. Loop Capital Markets Managing Director Anthony Chukumba told Yahoo Finance the announcement was "a little surprising" given that the beauty retailer released earnings just three weeks ago. Chukumba recently downgraded Ulta's shares to Hold, given the stock's valuation. However, there are things that give the beauty retailer a leg up over rivals. Chukumba notes that Ulta carries both prestige and drugstore brands, giving it a diverse product mix. He also notes that some stores have spas and that, generally, their stores tend to be less intimidating than others. Senior Media and Internet Analyst Laura Martin says that Petlz's pressure did help spur some change at Disney, not to mention, boost the stock price. As a result, she says, Peltz "lost the battle, but he sort of won the war, if a billionaire's war is about making money." However, the fight may not be over for Disney. Martin thinks that "activists will continue to circle The Walt Disney Company unless the share price keeps going up." That means, the "pressure on Bob Iger until 2026, when his contract expires, will stay really tight." As to why shareholders stuck with Iger and Disney over Peltz, Martins gives three reasons: preserving the Disney brand, they like Bob Iger, and that Nelson Peltz doesn't have entertainment experience. Shares of Intel (INTC) are sliding on Wednesday after an SEC filing for its foundry business revealed an operating loss of $7 billion in 2023. This was the first time the company reported its revenue for the foundry arm alone, separate from its product business. With Intel heavily investing in its foundry business, and increased competition in the AI-chip space, some analysts grow wary of whether or not the chipmaker can weather the storm. CFRA Research Senior Equity Analyst Angelo Zino joins Market Domination to discuss Intel's timeline for reaching benchmark goals it has set for itself. In terms of whether or not Intel will find clients for their foundry business for growth, Zino says: "When you look ahead here and you look at some of the targets they provided, they still said by 2030, only 30% of that kind of foundry capacity or revenue on the foundry side of things will come from external customers. It's still going to be the minority there. I think the biggest disappointment on our side of things as far as the news here was concerned is, that foundry business isn't going to hit operating margin break even until 2027. So that essentially implies that in 2025 and 2026, it's going to probably be a slower ramp than I think some out there... originally anticipated."
